Då är det officielt, jag är en av 30 finalister til LOEWE Craft Prize 2018 med mitt arbete från serien “Container” 2016. Den lyckliga vinnaren får 50 000 EUR. Vinnaren annonseras på utställningens öppnande den 3 maj 2018 på Design Museet i London. Utställningen står från 4 maj till 17 juni.

Vi 30 blev utvalda från 1.900 sökare, så juryen har varit igenom en tuff process. Här är ett citat från dem.
Regarding the selection process, Anatxu Zabalbeascoa, Executive
Secretary of the LOEWE Craft Prize Experts Panel, stated: ‘This year the
judging was harder than prior years, with the standard of applicants
impressively high across every category. Our chosen works reflect an
almost alchemical manipulation of each medium’s possibilities and reward
those who have mastered traditional skills in order to transform them
for the contemporary age. The selected finalists —who range in age from
27 to 76— are a multigenerational snapshot of the utmost excellence in
craft today.’
I´m honored and delighted to be one of the 30 finalists of the LOEWE Craft Prize 2018 with my work “Container” from 2016. All the work of the finalists will be exhibited at the Design Museum, London from 4 May – 17 June.
The finalists were chosen by a panel of experts from close to 1.900 submissions by artisans representing 86 countries. You can read the experts statement above.
